Further information

Once you have completed your course, you can acknowledge your achievement by obtaining a degree certificate and attending a graduation ceremony.

Fill out the form

To begin the graduation process, complete an Application for Conferral of Award form.

Submitted the form to the enquiry counter in Student Administration.

Autumn graduation ceremonies take place in March/April and Spring ceremonies in September each year.  Make sure you have your application in before the relevant closing date.

Do not wait for your final results or thesis examination before lodging your completed form.

Indicate on the form whether you wish to attend a graduation ceremony;  have your award conferred in your absence at a graduation ceremony or have it  conferred at a Senate Conferral.

Check your visa

If you want to attend a graduation ceremony you may need to apply for a tourist visa through the Department of Home Affairs.

The University can provide a letter for visa purposes as long as you have already lodged your Application for Conferral of Award form and you have stated on it that you plan to attend a ceremony.

A degree certificate is not automatically forwarded to you. Student Administration processes the award of degree certificates.

After graduation

All graduates automatically become members of Convocation, the UWA Graduates Association.

Keep up to date with all the latest UWA news and stay connected with fellow alumni. Being an active member of alumni benefits you in many ways.

The UWA Careers Centre organises career workshops, seminars and events for students who will soon be graduating. Some workshops are aimed at international students who are deciding where their future lies – in Australia, back home, further study or another destination.

The centre can assist with careers advice, résumé and job applications.
