Sexuality is a central aspect of being human and is deeply personal. Understanding your sexuality and how you want to express it or share it with others can take time and may change throughout your life.
Everyone expresses their sexuality differently and only you can decide how or whether you want to be sexual. It's up to you how you want to express yourself - you deserve to be you!
It is also essential to get your partner/s's consent before and during anything sexual to make sure that you know what they like, don't like and that they are enjoying themselves the whole time.
Your sexuality and the way you express your sexuality can be influenced by many factors, such as:
- Who you are attracted to
- Your biological sex
- Your gender identity and gender roles
- Religion, spirituality, culture and the law
- Your thoughts, desires and fantasies
- How you like to be intimate
- How your partner likes or doesn't like to be intimate
- Having children
No one should be harassed, pressured or discriminated against for their sexual orientation or gender identity.
