Allies
There are staff in this office who are Allies.
UniAccess provides free services and support to UWA students who want to disclose a disability or a medical condition and request assistance.
UniAccess staff are equipped to recommend the best options to enable your participation. Our approach is to provide an individual assessment of your needs and then work with you to plan the approach that will work best.
A disability officer can also provide information to prospective students and their families. We also provide information and support to help University staff.
How we help
We can:
- arrange for support, including accessible course materials and special consideration, to help you maximise your academic potential
- give advice on individual disability related matters
- facilitate physical access to the campus and its buildings as well as equipment and technology.
- provide library support and facilities
- liaise with departments and faculties on your behalf
- make alternative arrangements for examinations
- advise on what to do if you are dissatisfied with a decision and want to appeal or have a grievance
- provide assistance and alternative admission pathways for prospective students.

Appointments
Make an appointment to see a disability officer by phoning Student Support Services on (+61 8) 6488 2423.
Bring either:
- documents completed by a health professional that supports your request for assistance – you can use an existing report from a psychologist, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, psychiatrist or GP
- a medical practitioner’s report completed by your doctor:

Location: First Floor of the Social Sciences Building, South Wing.
Take the lift opposite the Guild Newsagent to reception.
