Students undertaking an award course at another Australian tertiary institution can apply to undertake units cross-institutionally at UWA for credit towards their degree course.

UWA Application

To apply cross-institutionally at UWA you will need to complete the Application for Cross-Institutional Admission and Enrolment Form below.

Make sure you complete all sections of the form and include original or certified copies of all required documents:

  • Academic Transcript/s (from your Home Institution)
  • Proof of Citizenship/Residency/Identity (Passport; Birth Certificate or Citizenship Certificate; and Visa notice (if applicable)
  • Commonwealth Assistance Form (available from UWA Student Administration or your Home Institution-hard-copy only):
    • HECS-HELP Form (Commonwealth Supported courses only)
    • FEE-HELP Form (Postgraduate Fee Paying courses only)

Use the checklist on the front page of the application form to make sure you have fulfilled all the requirements. Missing documentation will delay your application.

Submit your application to UWA Student Administration (Student Central).

Approval from your Home Institution

Your application must be approved by your Home Institution first by obtaining the required signatures in Section B of the Application for Cross-Institutional Admission and Enrolment Form.

Application Periods

  • Summer Session, 2019: 12 November 2018 - the week before the teaching period commences.
  • Semester 1, 2019:  12 November 2018 – 20 January 2019
  • Semester 2, 2019:  1 May 2019 - 30 June 2019
  • Non-standard teaching periods:  Applications for units taught in non-standard teaching periods will normally be accepted up until 1 week prior to the start date of the teaching period.

Late applications will incur a late fee of $100 which is payable to Student Administration upon lodging your application.

Late applications period:

  • Semester 1, 2019: 21 January - 8 February
  • Semester 2, 2019: 1 July - 15 July

Confirmation of Enrolment

If you are approved then a Confirmation of Cross-institutional Enrolment Letter will be sent to your nominated email address.

Follow the instructions in your letter to complete the next important steps:

Fees

UWA will determine the student contribution or fee liability which you incur for your UWA units. You must make your student contribution or fee payment to UWA.

International cross-institutional students must pay their tutition fees in full, prior to enrolment.

Re-enrolment for cross-institutional students

To re-enrol you must submit a new Cross-Institutional Admission and Enrolment Form to UWA Student Administration, with approval from your Home Institution (Section B). You do not need to provide supporting documentation again unless your enrolment status has changed at your Home Institution.

Throughout your period of cross-institutional study, you must maintain an enrolment at both your Home Institution and UWA.
