Quota units

Further information

Special restrictions apply to a few units that have quotas.

You must enrol in these units during the re-enrolment period. The units will initially display as 'invalid' on your enrolment record.

Faculties will review enrolments after the re-enrolment period closes and advise you of the outcome in mid- to late-January.

Students who are successful will have their unit status changed to 'enrolled' by the student office. Students who are not successful will be withdrawn from the invalid unit by the student office.

Academic merit is the main criterion used in ranking applicants for each unit in the faculty. The complete academic records of applicants are considered, with particular attention to prerequisite units. Other factors which may be taken into account include:

  • applicants who have already completed the minimum requirements for the BSc pass degree may be given a lower priority than those who have not
  • applicants who have not yet completed the second year of the BSc degree may be given a lower priority than applicants in the third year of the course.

Queries about invalid units should be made to your faculty office.
